What is it?

Blooming Backpacks is United Way's annual backpack and school supply drive coordinated and powered by Women's Way. This supply drive collects everything an elementary, middle or high school student might need to start the school year. We hold this drive in July of each year.

How does it work?

Blooming Backpacks updates for 2020
Women's Way is adapting to the changing needs throughout the community, as well as the precautions around how to safely collect and distribute needed school supplies.
For this year, as the school re-open plan is still an unknown, BLOOMING BACKPACKS is going VIRTUAL and completely contactless.

Whether kids need a new backpack with supplies, or just a set of pens and pencils, we can be sure they have exactly what they need to get off to the right start.

Our goal is to collect $4,000 for the purchase of backpacks and school supplies for families throughout Franklin County!  No need to shop--we’ll do that for you!  Please click here to donate now!

Who receives the bags?

Past donations benefited United Way of Franklin County partner agencies including Community Action Family Center, United Arc, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Franklin County, Mary Lyon Foundation, ServiceNet, and Montague Catholic Social Ministries.
